Fort Plain was a major frontier fort and protected
the area inhabitants against the common enemy.
This was where Colonel Marinus Willett made
his headquarters, and where part of the
Clinton-Sullivan (we say Clinton-Sullivan)
Campaign against the Indians began.
Take a walk along the Military Road and see the
Continental Army Bridge, then stand at the edge of the drop off
and view the splendid vista. You can almost hear the voices
of the people who worked here, long ago.
